The Galvin Greenman in Chelmsford is an award winning pub and we can totally see why. The restaurant itself is beautiful with an extensive wine collection. The roast here was beautiful and the beef served perfectly pink!

The Funky Monk Hotel is located on Epping High Street. The restaurant within the hotel prides itself on their Sunday roast and we were impressed. The rich gravy was perfect and it was the perfect place to chill for the afternoon.

The Queen Victoria pub in Theydon Bois is part of the McMullen brand and they pride themselves on being a home from home pub. The roast feels like a home cooked roast and should be added to your Sunday list.

Crouchridge Vineyard
Each year from October onwards Crouchridge Vineyard offer their traditional Sunday roast as part of their cellar door. Enjoy a fabulous roast with the views of the vines. The thick gravy was the highlight for us with amazing crispy roast potatoes and stuffing onthe side. On some Sundays they also offer live chilled music for you to sit back, sip on wine and listen to music whilst eating a great Sunday roast.
Brewhouse and Kitchen Chelmsford
Opposite Chelmsford train station is the gastropub Brewhouse and Kitchen. Go inside to see their beers on tap and how they are brewed and try their Sunday roast. The roast is great and comes with extras such as sausage meat stuffing which is a win for us!
Channels Brasserie Chelmsford
The Brasserie inside Channels Estate in Chelmsford offer an excellent Sunday roast. The brasserie is beautiful with real wooden beams in a barn like format. If you choose the right Sunday you can join them for jazz Sundays with a full jazz band playing while you dine, keep a look out on the website for the event dates.

Choose between the formal dining room or eat in the dog friendly bar area for a more chilled experience at The Angel in Shoeburyness. The roast is excellent with the largest serving of meat we have ever had! If you are taking dogs they offer dog friendly roasts too!

The Peter Booat in Leigh on Sea is a fabulous roast with views of the sea and estuary in Old Leigh. Their roast is definitely one of our favorites and you can pair it will locally caught fish to start such as oysters or whitebait.

The Roslin Hotel on Southend seafront is our favorite roast dinner in Southend. The hotel itself is beautiful with floral decorations to suit each season. Choose from the 3 course lunch menu and you will not be disappointed with this roast. In the warmer weather sit outside and dine alfresco in the Mediterranean garden or enjoy the vibe inside in the colder months.
The Anchor Hullbridge
The Anchor in Hullbridge is a gatsro pub that offers excellent river side views of the estuary out front. They offer a great Sunday roast and you can dine while taking in the views and enjoying the relaxed atmosphere of the pub and restaurant.
Acanteen Chelmsford
Located in Chelmsford city center just off of Moulsham Street is Acanteen. They have developed a local reputation for an excellent roast dinner with crispy roast potatoes and a rather large yorkshire pudding that is one of our favourites.
Bellhouse Rayleigh
The beautiful Bellhouse gatsro pub in Rayleigh serves up amazing Sunday roasts every Sunday. The pub is cosy with table service and a great place to sit inside in the cosy pub this autumn.
