Everything you need to know about getting your Coachella tickets

If your planning a trip to Coachella then first thing on your agenda should be sorting out your Coachella tickets. Considering it’s one of the biggest festivals in the world getting your tickets can be tricky.

Here is everything you need to know and to consider before purchasing;

 

Before the tickets are released

Always take note of when the tickets went on sale the previous year. There is always a pre-sale and and general sale. With the pre-sale you are able to take advantage of the payment plan scheme to spread the cost over a few months. The prices of the tickets can be found on the website so make sure that you have enough money in your account when the tickets actually go on sale as they sell out quickly. An announcement is normally made a few days before the tickets go on sale to let you know the time and date of the sale.

Be prepared before the sale to decide which weekend you want to attend. We advise booking free cancelation accommodation ahead of time in case you do not get the tickets you want.

 

The ticket sales

Each person can only purchase 2 passes per person to avoid ticket touts, if you are going with a group of friends make sure you are all ready and waiting when the tickets go on sale.

Make sure you are ready before the ticket sale time and have checked to see if there is any time difference from where you are buying the tickers.

Have as many devices as possible ready to wait in the queue for tickets. We had 7 devices between us ready to go and only 1 device go through to actually buy the tickets!

Have enough time, it took us over an hour to actually get through to buy tickets.

Generally weekend 1 tickets will always sell out first and more quickly. If you are flexible on the weekend you will have a much better chance.

 

Travel and accommodation packages

If the festival passes sell out, there are normally travel and accommodation packages still available. These will work out more expensive, however you will get your accommodation and travel to the festival included in your ticket. You also do not have the hassle of getting your tickets posted or collected at Will Call as you will collect them at your hotel when you check in. There are several options for accommodation from Palm Springs to Coachella itself with budget and luxury options.

 

Wait list tickets

If you were out of luck and you did not manage to score your festival tickets you can join the wait list. You go onto the Coachella website and select the weekend of your choice. You have to put in your credit card details and if tickets become available and you are the next in line the website will automatically charge your credit card and the tickets are yours. For this option you need to ensure the ticket cost remains on the card.

 

Receiving your tickets

If you have purchased tickets you need to ensure that you update your delivery address as early as possible. There is a cut off date to update your address and you need to ensure that your tickets arrive before you leave to travel to the US.

Alternative options including picking up your tickets at Will Call. For this option you need to ensure you are in town on the dates available, have valid ID in the same name as the person on the ticket and the original card that you paid with for verification.
