Where to stay in Krakow

Krakow is a European dream. The old cobbled streets that form the old town and atmosphere filled Jewish quarter stole our hearts from the second we set foot there. There’s no surprise that these two areas are at the top of our list in where to stay in Krakow.

The old European charm and luxury filled apartments give a romantic feel and we have found two of the most romantic hotels in Krakow complete with views and hot tubs.

One of the best things about accommodation in Krakow is the budget price tag for luxurious hotels and apartments. The general cost of living is low in Poland and Krakow considering it is a main city.  You can stay in hotels and apartments that would normally be way out of your price range in the more main stream European cities.

As a couple we found the city to be romantic and were able to choose and hunt down two of the most romantic hotels we had ever stayed in.

The best neighbourhoods to stay in Krakow

The Old Town (Stare Miasto)

The old historic hub of Krakow. The old town is the centre of Krakow and absolutely beautiful. Cobbled lined streets close to most of Krakow’s main attractions is the main reason for staying. Dine and drink in the outdoor terraces of the restaurants in the main square for a truly pleasant experience and one definatley not to be missed whilst in Krakow.

The price tag of food and drinks in the main square will of course be a little more touristy compared to more remote parts of the city. We still wholeheartedly support a visit and stay in the Old Town. We were able to find a luxurious apartment overlooking the old town complete with a hot tub and a bottle of prosecco on arrival for a very budget price.

Kazimierz

Kazimierz is the Jewish Quarter of Krakow. The Jewish quarter offers a very different experience to the traditional old town and offers an edgy atmosphere similer to Shoreditch in London.

The Jewish Quarter is much less touristy and is frequented by locals exploring the many cafes, bars and boutique shops in the main square and down the small lanes.

Located approximately 20 minutes walk from the old town you are still very close to the main tourist attractions and join that with a more local experience.

Accommodation prices are even cheaper than the old town and atmospheric hotels and apartments can be found in some traditional buildings down the winding streets near the Jewish Quarter.

Kleparz

If you want to be close to all of the action but out of the madness look to Kleparz which is located just outside of the Old Town. The Old Town can still be reached with a few minutes walk but you will also get to explore the side streets surrounding the old town which are full of character.

A market is situated in Kleparz every weekend and is a main event for locals and tourists alike.

Beautiful blue trams also run through this part of the city giving you a real Krakow feel and making ti easily accessible to the rest of Krakow.

Booking your accommodation

When we were booking our accommodation in Krakow we couldn’t believe the luxury options available at such a budget price. Compared to the rest of Europe we booked 2 fantastic stays in the 2 of the best apartments we could find.

As always we booked out accommodation through booking.com because of their huge range hotels and apartments and easy to change bookings.

Take a look at the two apartments we stayed in. We wholeheartedly recommend both of these apartments and it would be too hard to choose our favourite!

Aparthotel Betmanowska Main Square Residence

View the property on booking.com here.

The main Square Residence felt like ultimate luxury in the middle of the main square. Stepping out of the bustling main square and into serene idyllic luxury was a warm welcomed surprise.

The whole experience was luxurious from the off start when we were greeted on arrival with a bottle of prosecco and fruit platter to truly enjoy the hot tub experience.

The brick walls are surrounded by sleek furniture and a high quality hot tub that looks out over the main square.

Enjoying a coffee whilst overlooking was the square was an experience in itself and our favouritism way to start the morning in a new city.

The nights stay cost us less than 100 euros which was real bargain.

Aparthotel Stare Miasto

You can view this apartment on booking.com here.

This Aparthotel located just outside of the main square close to Kleparz giving you an advantage  to be so close to explore two of the cities main areas.

We stayed in the spa suite and were instantly impressed on arrival. The apartment had 2 floors complete with a kitchen, hot tub, bedroom and shower room. This luxury hot tub took centre stage in the middle of the apartment.

The two apartments are some of the most luxurious in Krakow and perfect for your romantic getaway. Pair these apartments with drinks and dinner in this traditional city for the perfect date night!
