Bath is a beautiful city in Somerset England with tons of history and amazing architecture to feast your eyes on. The city is hugely known for the Roman Baths and they are definitely one of the main attractions you need to visit when visiting Bath for the first time.

Guildhall Market

Bath’s famous indoor market is heh perfect place to stop by for a browse of the various stalls selling a variety of books, souvenirs and household items. Part of the market is also home to a food market where you can browse cooking ingredients, buy fresh produce and also order food to eat on site or takeaway.

Topping and Company Book Shop

Topping and Company Book Shop is arguably Bath’s most beautiful book shop. The outside of the building has beautiful architecture and columns, while the inside is stocked full of great books over 2 floors with ladders dangling that  can be used to reach books out of reach.

Bath Abbey

Bath Abbey is a beautiful Church of England Church of Saint Peter and saint Paul. The outside of the church is absolutely beautiful and if you purchase tickets you can go inside the inner beauty of the church. This is definitely one of Bath’s biggest tourist attractions and not to be missed.

Pulteney Bridge

Pulteney Bridge was constructed in Bath in 1774 over the River Avon. The bridge was originally constructed by the Pulteney family to connect their land to the city center of Bath. Nowadays the bridge is still beautiful to look at and you can take in the beauty of the water feature.

Roman Baths

No trip to Bath is complete without a visit to the Roman Baths. The Roman Baths will transport you back in time to see first hand the thermal baths used by the Romans. The Roman Baths have been preserved as much as possible and it is fascinating to see how they would be used with the help of projectors. Those brave enough can even drink some of the thermal water.

Mr B’s Emporium of Reading Delights

Another beautiful book shop, tucked down a  side street in Bath. Mr B’s Emporium of Reading Delights has 2 shops. One for children’s books and another filled with adult fiction and non-fiction books. This spot is not to be missed for book lovers.

Bath Skyline Walk

Those looking to get some steps in, need to take part in Bath’s skyline walk. This 3 mile round walk from Bath city center to the outskirts of Bath. This is the perfect walk to see the sunset over Bath if you time the walk at the right time.

Therme Spa

Another not to be missed tourist attraction in Bath is the Therme Spa. The spa has 3 floors packed full of spa experiences from sauna’s steam rooms, thermal baths and more. The main pull for sure is the rooftop thermal bath with great views of Bath.

Places to Eat

Sally Lunn’s

Bath is famous for it’s buns and there is o place better to eat a bun, than in sally Lunn’s Bath’s oldest eating house and museum. The eating house dates back to 1483 and you can see the history in the building as they try to preserve as much of the old building as possible. You can not make breakfast or lunch reservations, so expect to queue outside for a spot.

The Chequer’s Sunday Lunch

Made famous for it’s spot in the Michelin Guide, The Chequer’s is a gastro pub at it’s finest with open fires and real beams. In a very bold statement we will say this is the best Sunday roast in Bath.
