Explore Mykonos Old Town

Little Venice

Little Venice is one of the Old Town’s most popular destinations. Walk along the edge of the sea and take a seat at one of the popular bars or restaurants to take in the view. The most popular time to visit is when the sun goes down, ideally located right in front of Little Venice. It’s the perfect sport to step back and relax, but be careful of the waves and a splash!

Kastro’s

Head to the infamous Kasper’s for ultimate views of Mykonos. Dine alongside the sea for the perfect slice of Mykonos heaven. The restaurant opens for lunch and this is on a first come, first serve basis. You can make a dinner reservation 2 weeks before for dinner. Take a look here.

Windmills of Mykonos

Head to the windmills of Mykonos for a traditional sight. These previously working windmills are a sight to behold and really set the scene of Little Venice and Mykonos Old Town. It is also a great base to watch the sunset without paying the minimum spend at a local bar.

Try a Gyro

One of the best things to do in Mykonos Old Town is try a traditional gyro. Enjoy a pork or chicken gyro or slovaki and eat along the Old Town side streets for the ultimate experience. One of our favourites was from Jimmy’s gyro.

Where to Watch Sunset

Mykonos Townhouse Sunset

The Skybar and Cocktail Bar at Mykonos Townhouse is for sure one of the best places to watch sunset in Mykonos Town. We reserved the just the 2 of us table with a 80 euro minimum spend and chilled on beanbags as the sun went down. You can book here. 

Little Venice

Little Venice is undoubtedly a picture perfect sunset spot. Be careful not get wet or splashed as the waves hit the edge of Mykonos Town! There are several beautiful places to watch the sunset from Little Venice. We recommend Negrita’s if you are looking for a party, Bao’s or Breeze bar if you are looking for a more chilled atmosphere or Nice and Easy if you are hoping to dine.

180 Sunset Bar

Experience the bohemian vibes of 180 Sunset bar for one of your sunsets in Mykonos. The decor is beautiful and can choose from various sections to sit such as the Boho Terrace, VIP Terrace, bar and more. Watch the sunset as a DJ plays and then performers come alive after dark. You can book here.

Zuma

Quickly becoming one of Mykonos’s trendiest places to be, Zuma is a great option to watch the sunset. You can choose to dine in the restaurant, sip drinks at the bar or book a sunset bed for the ultimate sunset experience. Be warned this comes with a minimum spend of 200 euro per person which yo can use on food and drink. You can book here. 

Garden Sunset Bar

Another beautifully decorated sunset spot. Garden Sunset Bar is set on the cliff edge and continues the bohemian decor vibe. This super chilled out spot to watch the sunset is the perfect end to a busy day in Mykonos. You can book here. 

Cavo Tagoo

The infamous Cavo Tagoo Hotel in Mykonos has become well known for it’s beautiful rooms housing private pools and even cave pools. The amazing pool, bar and restaurant area is again the perfect spot to watch the sunset. You can choose from the restaurant, bar or a sunset bed.

Visit a Beach Club

Zuma

Zuma is the perfect spot to book a bed and spend the day chilling in the sun looking out at the sea. Dine on Japanese cuisine and sip on the excellent menu of cocktails and wine for the ultimate experience. Beds can be booked from 11am-5pm, we recommend arriving promptly at 11am to get a front row bed.

Scorpios

No trip to Mykonos is complete without a visit to Scorpios. You can visit during the day as a beach club, come for the sunset ritual, come to dine or for the evening party. Scorpios take part in a sunset ritual daily where you can watch the sunset and listen to the DJ play. We recommend coming before sunset to chill, stay for the ritual and then join the the party. Alemagou

Alemagou take beach party to a whole new level. Dance on the sand and enjoy the sounds from the DJ on their party nights. The restaurant is also amazing serving a good selection of meat and fish with large portions. Enjoy watching the sunset behind the DJ and then join in the party. You can book here. 

Nammos

If you are looking to party during the day at a beach club, then look no further than Nammos. Book your bed and enjoy the sun whilst the music plays. Later in the day the DJ starts to play and you can enjoy the flowing drinks. You can book here. 

SantAnna

This beach/pool club is definitely aesthetically pleasing. Choose either a beach bed, pool bed or even a floating pool bed. Chill during the day and then watch SantAnna come alive in the evening for the DJ set. You can book here.

Book Principote if you are looking for a beach club where the lunch sitting comes alive. Book in for the restaurant and enjoy dancing on the tables and swinging your napkin to the music. You can book here.

More Things to do

Island Hop

Mykonos is a beautiful island, but setting to the sea allows you to explore the islands surrounding Mykonos. You can take a ferry to close by islands such as Santorini, Paros and Naxos or day a island hopping boat for the day to see Delos and Rhenia Islands.

Kiki’s Taverna

Kiki’s is an institution in Mykonos. You cannot make a reservation, but head there anyway and wait for your table while you are served rose from a plastic cup. When the wait is over choose fresh fish or pork from the menu and enjoy the only place to dine in Mykonos with no electricity, set to the back drop of a beautiful beach.

Church of Panagia Paraportiani

The Church of Panagia Paraportiani is a beautiful church located int he Kastro area of Mykonos. Come along to take an image and learn some history of the island. The church means in greek Lady of the Side Gate and is the perfect place to see old Mykonos.

Local Wine Tasting

Mykonos is a pro at making it’s own local Greek wine. Why not head out on a wine tour to see the traditional wine farms and taste the produce. Some tours show you how the wine is made and offer tastings with local foods.

Visit Paradise Beach

Paradise beach is one of the most popular beaches on the island. The water is clear and you can enjoy a swim. You can choose to lay on the sand or book a sun lounger or even have a party in the Paradise Beach Club.

Traditional Fishing Trip

If you are looking for a more cultural experience in Mykonos book a traditional fishing trip. Go aboard a working fishing boat and catch your fish and cook it aboard the boat on a barbecue.
